Bought the Flojet 18555000A Portable Waste Pump for my new camper knowing there are times I can't get to my dump station or the clean-out in the back yard .. well over 100 feet ... but I have a bathroom in my garage that's 60 feet ...bought a 3/4 inch 75 foot hose designated for just this purpose ... put it all together my self and hooked it up ..worked like a charm for about 3-4 minutes ... all of a sudden it quit ... thought it was my connections were bad so I redid the splices just to be sure ... still not working ..so I checked the fuse in the handle .. ok changed the fuse ..instant blow ..humm ok new fuse ..again blowing all my fuses ..humm.. take everything apart ..what a mess cleaned and flushed with bleach ... looked in the end of the pump and who would of guessed .. a screw caught behind the blade .. boy was I mad .. first time the camper had been used and emptied .. apparently someone dropped or left a long screw in the holding tank and when the pump caught it it blew the fuse .. so the fuse in the handle works like it's suppose to ..lol ... got the screw out and hooked everything back up and it worked like a champ ... didn't leak ... real good flush capacity ... I flushed the tank 3-4 times to be sure .. worked great ..bought the clear hydroflush to use with the pump .. it leaked at the flush valve so I used the one on the pump .. . you can read my review of the hydroflush .. the connections were easy to splice but had to go get # 10 wire .. I was 2 feet short with the wire that comes with it to hook it to my battery on the front of the 24' work and play camper ...using alligator clips for now just the check it out but think I'm going to change them to rings for a more permanent connection to the battery ..it comes with a quick disconnect for the handle on and off switch ... and an antiphon valve for the water hose ...I can't say about longevity yet ...only used it once so far ... felt the motor while it was flushing 3-4 times 40 gal tanks ..and it didn't seem to over heat just slightly warm at the last flush ... and boy it works fast to empty the tank .. Was worried about what was going on at the other end since it's just me ... so I paused the pump to check the other end of the hose didn't want to find a mess at the other end .. but no problem ...I put the hose between the seat and bowl ..closed the lid and placed a flower pot on the lid to keep it in place ..lol .. worked like a charm .. loving this pump !
