?This propane torch is so short it defeats the purpose of having it. I ended up returning it and purchased one from a local big box store.I ordered this for getting rid of larger patches of weeks and brush. It lights up quick on one push of the piezo electric igniter. On the label it says good for 500 uses but the company says they have parts if needed. This torch is also great if you want to give wood a burn look. The holding handle is a comfortable fit and being that the flame burner is a heavy duty steel, the balance from hand to torch is good. The gas valve is tight with no leaks and is not like some flimsy ones at our local hardware. This product will probably last for years because of its durable design.The manual is well written in English but there was no parts list. The cable is too short at around 5 feet. It needs a 10 foot cable and then it would be a better value, and in my opinion would be safer and farther away from the propane tank.This thing is cool. Every kid wants a flamethrower at some point in their lives (right?) and this fits the bill - you can start a roaring bonfire or campfire in less than a minute, burn out weeds in no time (do you garden? this is perfect for soil prep), or clean up the driveway. I used it to clean out an alleyway between my building and my neighbor - it made short work of the dry vines that were breaking down my concrete wall. Not only is it effective, it's fun to use! I recommend it. Oh, and a small fire extinguisher. Safety first!Given the variety of jobs I have had over the years, I am surprised I had not used a propane torch before this year. I took a job where we had to frequently use these to thaw out water hydrants at a ski resort. We bought a few new ones that cost more than this propane torch, but they did not even have push button igniters.This torch is affordable and very easy to use. I use the same propane tanks that I use for my outdoor firepit and barbeque grill. The fitting is exactly the same for this torch. The nozzle on the end does a good job of spreading the flame out over a wider area. The igniter button is a huge plus since this means I don't have to go searching for something to generate a spark.I had planned to use this during the summer to clear out dried weeds in asphalt, but I almost immediately started using it; I used it for the first time to loosen up a mound of ice that had formed in my driveway. It melted it away very quickly. It is also handy for starting up an outdoor wood burning fireplace or a bonfire.I am pleased with this. Good quality, easy to use, and affordable.Call me lazy, but I REALLY REALLY hate shoveling in the winter. This, shall we say, made the job much easier.Very sturdy. The handle is robust and comfortable. The handle has rubber grip. The pizio ignition works great but I wish it was in an easier location to operate. The hose is plenty long enough to keep a propain tank in the back of my side by side and still reach the fence line.
